Elizabethtown College Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science and Professor of Engineering, Dr. Sara Atwood was recently elected for a second term on the nine-member Engineering Dean’s Council of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Executive Board.

“It is an honor to serve my fellow engineering deans and work with impressive colleagues from across the country to advance engineering education,” Atwood said.

The Engineering Deans Council of the ASEE is the leadership organization of the Engineering Deans in the United States. Currently, the Council has approximately 350 members, representing over 90 percent of all US Engineering Deans. The council votes on its executive committee, and committee members hold their positions for two years.

The council’s objective is to provide a vision and a voice for engineering education, partnering with stakeholders and facilitating the exchange of information to promote excellence.

Atwood was previously selected by her peers to the Engineering Dean’s Council for the 2022-24 term.
