The College has exceeded its goal for the fifth straight year and will expand this year’s goal to $20,000

Elizabethtown College has exceeded its Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign for the fifth consecutive year by reaching and surpassing its goal of enrollment deposits made by first-year students who will enroll as members of the Class of 2028. The College announced that it will extend the campaign, adding $5,000 to the original $15,000 pledge, which will be donated to Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity (LLHH), if Etown can reach its expanded goal by the final on-campus Etown Accepted Student Day of the spring on Saturday, April 13.

“The continued and overwhelming success of our Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign demonstrates that our service-minded community that strives to benefit the lives of others resonates strongly with our newest students,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “I’m thrilled that through this campaign our institution can continue to use our collective knowledge, skills, and resources to be a force for good in our community and beyond.”

The College exceeded its initial goal following its first Accepted Student Day on Saturday, Feb. 10. It will host its next two Accepted Student Days on Saturday, March 16 and Saturday, April 13, where students will learn more about the College and connect with faculty, staff, and students. Students will have an opportunity to make their deposits toward the expanded Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign.

“We’ve seen a remarkable response to this year’s campaign and are proud to be able to offer this impactful incentive for students at this critical point in their educational journey,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Marketing, Communications, and External Relations Keri Straub said.

Elizabethtown College partnered with Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity because of its mission to support families in need of safe, warm, and affordable homes. The College has partnered with Habitat in previous years, offering students opportunities to participate in service-trip building projects. As a part of the donations made through the Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign, incoming students will also have the opportunity to participate in the Habitat home build in Lancaster County that the funds support, once they officially enroll in the fall of 2024.
