The Bowers Writers House will welcome Scott LaMar, Host and Executive Producer of the daily “Smart Talk” news and public affairs program on WITF-FM, to campus this Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. in Gibble Auditorium, located in Esbenshade Hall. LaMar will be joined by Joyce Davis, Board of Trustee and President of the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg, who worked with him for several years. Together, they explore LaMar’s career as one of Pennsylvania’s most celebrated on-air personalities. This event is free and open to the public.
LaMar has worked in both radio and television for more than four decades and has spent the last 12 years entertaining and informing listeners with his wildly popular show “Smart Talk.” He has won more than a dozen Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcast Awards since 2000 and has been nominated for five Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards.
