Elizabethtown College Associate Professor of Business Law Sean Melvin garnered the 2021 Most Promising New Textbook Award by the Textbook and Academic Authors Association (TAA) for his most-recent textbook, “Business and Society: Ethical, Legal, and Digital Environments.”
“Having taught Business and Society for many years, I saw the need for a new textbook that integrated business, ethics, and law in our digital age,” said Melvin. “It takes many years to write and revise a textbook and I know the author team is honored by receiving an award that recognizes our approach and hard work. The original book proposal was actually produced during my sabbatical leave a few years ago, so I am grateful to the College and my colleagues for their support as well.”
Melvin’s work was one of just 10 textbooks selected for that category. The TAA judges said of his textbook, “Business and Society: Ethical, Legal, and Digital Environments is a worthy TAA award winner. It combines superb and current content-coverage with primary-sourced research in a visually appealing presentation that will keep students and instructors intrigued for a long time after their semester ends.”
