Elizabethtown College’s Best Buddies student club will host the fourth annual Friendship Walk on Sunday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Thompson Gym. The Friendship Walk is a national fundraiser and the leading event in the United States for supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event is open to the Etown campus community and the public. Registration is required.
“The Best Buddies Friendship Walk has a powerful impact on the Elizabethtown College community by bringing students, faculty, staff, and local supporters together to reach a common goal of inclusion and belonging,” Elizabethtown College Friendship Walk Coordinator, Hannah Blazure said. “Through this event, there are meaningful friendships and opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that take place.”
The event’s activities include performances from the Elizabethtown College Dance Team, along with a capella groups Melica and Vocalign. Entertainment will also include games such as badminton and volleyball, while new activities this year include face painting, temporary tattoos, and more. If you are unable to attend but would like to volunteer with the event, you may sign up by emailing the club at bestbuddies@etown.edu.
