The College was named among the nation’s most transfer-friendly institutions for the fifth consecutive year
Recently, Elizabethtown College was recognized for creating dynamic and exemplary pathways to support transfer students by being named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s (PTK) 2025 Transfer Honor Roll. The honor marks the fifth consecutive year that Etown has earned the distinction.
“This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to empowering transfer students to thrive from day one at Elizabethtown College,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications Keri Straub said. “At Etown, we prioritize creating seamless, supportive pathways that not only ease the transition but ignite a student’s ability to lead, serve, and succeed in life.”
Only 251 colleges and universities earned this year’s accolade, distinguishing Etown among the nation’s most transfer-friendly institutions. The Transfer Honor Roll is determined by 40 key metrics related to the support and success of transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life for transfer students, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion
Etown’s strategic approach to ensuring a smooth transfer process for students includes enrollment agreements with several two-year colleges, including Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), Reading Area Community College (RACC), and Harford Community College (HCC). Special visit opportunities are available for transfer students, including on-campus Transfer Visit Days, and the College offers exclusive transfer scholarships.
The accolade was based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse, and on data submitted through the four-year institution’s profile on PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool designed to help students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways.
“I’m proud of the transfer outcomes we’re seeing at these Honor Roll colleges,” Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa said. “These colleges are doing more than just opening doors – they’re walking students through them. Their commitment to creating clear, supportive pathways demonstrates what’s possible when student success is truly the priority.”
Colleges completing the PTK Connect profile are given a Transfer Friendliness Rating. The Transfer Honor Roll is chosen from among the top 25 percent of highest-rated colleges.
