Douglas Bomberger<\/b>, professor of musicology and chair of Department of Fine and Performing Arts was featured Sept. 22 in \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/lancasteronline.com\/article\/local\/895497_E-town-music-prof-to-discuss-his-book-on-Columbia-music-prof.html\">E-town music prof to discuss his book on Columbia music prof.<\/a>\u201d The article highlights his book\u2019s mass appeal and his talk \u201c\u2019Like a Dog Standing on His Hind Legs&#8217;: Edward MacDowell and Columbia University.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b>George Bishop<\/b>, author of \u201cThe Night of the Comet,\u201d and upcoming speaker at E-town\u2019s <strong>Bowers Writers House<\/strong>, was featured on Sept. 22 as part of LancasterOnline\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/lancasteronline.com\/article\/local\/896968_Bookends--Sept--22--2013.html\">Bookends,<\/a>\u201d a weekly wrap up of all things literary in the Lancaster area. Bishop\u2019s talk will cover strategies for creating fiction writing and include readings of his novel.<\/p>\n<p><b>President Carl J. Strikwerda<\/b> was included in a\u00a0 Harrisburg Magazine article, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.harrisburgmagazine.com\/September-2013\/The-Ten\/\">The Ten<\/a>,&#8221; published in its September issue. In the article, 10 college presidents in the region were asked to answer a question about what they believed are the most important life lessons for students to take away from their college experience. This question was asked in response to a graduation speech given last May, at Kenyon College in Ohio, by award-wining writer David Foster Wallace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;E-town in the News&#8221; is a semi-regular hand-curated collection of links to recent articles, appearances and publications from other media outlets that feature people of Elizabethtown.
