Several School of Engineering and Computer Science faculty attended the<\/span> 2025 Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN)<\/span><\/a> National Conference from Jan. 23 to 25 in Austin, Texas. <\/span>Dean Sara Atwood co-emceed the conference alongside Dr. Reva Johnson, Valparaiso University Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering. Data Science major Yusuke Satani \u201925 won first place in the Undergraduate Division of the Student Research Competition at the Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE TS) Conference for his project \u201cRydeeNLP: Personalized Japanese Learning Through NLP-Powered Proficiency Adaptation.\u201d <\/span>Satani\u2019s research aims to provide a personalized and comprehensive Japanese learning experience. Professor of Engineering Leads Study Abroad Trip to Gambia

A group of six Etown students and two faculty members led by Professor of Engineering Kurt DeGoede traveled to Pirang, a small village in The Gambia for a 10-day study abroad trip in January.
