The College has exceeded its campaign goal for the sixth straight year<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Elizabethtown College has surpassed its Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign for the sixth consecutive year, reaching and exceeding its goal of deposits made by first-year students who will enroll as members of the Class of 2029.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign\u2019s success has led to the College matching a total of $20,000 in deposits between Jan. 6 and the College\u2019s final Accepted Student Day of the spring semester on April 12, to establish an endowed scholarship for future students. Thanks to the College\u2019s <\/span>Million Dollar Match<\/span><\/a> campaign and additional donor support, $30,000 has been added to create a $50,000 endowed Class of 2029 Scholarship.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe enthusiasm for our annual Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign is exciting and as a College, we are deeply appreciative for the collective generosity that made the Class of 2029 Scholarship possible,\u201d Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications Keri Straub said. \u201cAt Etown, we use our energy to contribute to the world beyond ourselves, and this initiative reflects how our supportive community lives out the College\u2019s Educate for Service mission.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Million Dollar Match is the most significant fundraising match in the institution\u2019s history. Through a generous $500,000 challenge fund provided by donors Bob Dolan, David Hosler \u201972, Jan Lane \u201975, Ed Lovelidge \u201982, Jim Shreiner \u201973, G\u201924, and the estate of the late Martin Heilman \u201963, the campaign matches new $25,000 scholarship commitments, dollar for dollar, to create $1 million in funding to support student scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Class of 2029 Scholarship will be awarded each year, in perpetuity, to students with demonstrated financial need. Once the endowment is fully funded, a minimum of approximately $2,500 will be awarded annually. As the endowment grows, so will the scholarship amount being awarded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elizabethtown College launched the Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign in 2020. The effort aligns with the College\u2019s motto Educate for Service, which was adopted in 1915. Educate for Service expresses the campus community\u2019s belief that the pursuit of knowledge is most noble when used to benefit others.<\/span><\/p>\n
