The outpouring of generosity led to 2,239 gifts from alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends, and families from around the world, raising a total of $743,569 \u2013 both new Power of One Day records.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This year\u2019s Power of One Day served as a celebration of the College\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etown.edu\/125-celebration\/index.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">125th anniversary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and marked the 11th edition of the annual day of giving. Power of One Day offered donors an opportunity to give back to what they love most about Etown by supporting scholarships,\u00a0 academic schools and departments, athletic teams, student clubs, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Highlights included donors from 38 states spanning alumni and students across 72 class years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.givecampus.com\/schools\/ElizabethtownCollege\/power-of-one-day-2025\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19387 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"884\" height=\"497\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2.png 1920w, https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/news.etown.edu\/files\/2025\/03\/4136M-PO1Day-RecapGraphic-1920x1080-v2-1080x608.png 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 884px) 100vw, 884px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This year\u2019s edition of Power of One Day featured fun giveaways and incentives including limited-edition 125th anniversary socks, Elizabethtown College Store gift cards, and a special dinner with President Betty Rider. More than $350,000 in challenge and match dollars donated by generous alumni, parents, and friends of the College were unlocked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 2025 challenges included:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">500 Total Donors unlocked $15,000 from Carol Metzler \u201977<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1000 Total Donors unlocked $20,000 from Board of Trustee Chairman Mike \u201988 and Caryn \u201988 Spangler<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1500 Total Donors unlocked $40,000 from Trustee Bob &#8217;90 and Susan &#8217;90 Sands\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2,000 Total Donors unlocked $100,000 from Nancy Hahn \u201981<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">300 Family Donors unlocked $25,000 from Pete &#8217;12 and Shelley Hobbs P&#8217;28<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">500 Alumni Donors in the Classes of 2000-2024 and Current Students unlocked $20,000 from Ryan \u201900 and Schyler Heishman<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">500 Athletics Donors unlocked $10,000 from Rod Chamberlain \u201974 and Anne Findlay-Chamberlain; Hob \u201971 and Marilyn Kroesen; Joe \u201882 and Julie Harriger; and David Thompson &#8217;82<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">250 #OneEtown Social Media Shares unlocked $10,000 toward the Elizabethtown College Fund courtesy of Alex &#8217;76 and Cindy Risser<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">125 Total Donors between the 10 to 11 a.m. Power Hour unlocked $25,000 from Trustee Tom McGonigle P\u201910, P\u201917<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">125 Total Donors between the 3 to 4 p.m. Bonus Power Hour unlocked $20,000 from Jim \u201973, H&#8217;24 and Mary Shreiner G&#8217;24<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">View more <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.givecampus.com\/schools\/ElizabethtownCollege\/power-of-one-day-2025\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Power of One Day<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> results<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Blue Jay community united in support of the programs, people, and places that make Elizabethtown College exceptional during a record-setting Power of One Day, Etown\u2019s annual 24-hour day of giving, on Tuesday, March 18.
