Recently, Elizabethtown College announced the <\/span>Million Dollar Match<\/span><\/a>, the most significant fundraising match in the institution\u2019s history. The initiative offers the opportunity for 20 first-time endowed scholarship donors to build a lasting legacy and fund scholarships that will open doors to higher education for future generations of Etown students.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cScholarships enable our students to fulfill their dreams and allow our donors to create a meaningful, lasting impact through their generosity,\u201d Elizabethtown College Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Brian G. Falck ’95 said. \u201cThis exceptional matching opportunity will double the impact of emerging Blue Jay donors and help create much-needed permanent endowed support while increasing access to a transformational Etown experience.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/a>A generous $500,000 challenge fund has been provided by Bob Dolan, David Hosler \u201972, Jan Lane \u201975, Ed Lovelidge \u201982, Jim Shreiner \u201973, G\u201924, and the estate of the late Martin Heilman \u201963. The Million Dollar Match campaign will match new $25,000 scholarship commitments, dollar for dollar, to create $1 million in funding to support student scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n

An endowed scholarship is a sustainable fund that grows over time and is awarded annually to qualified students. Donors can select preferred criteria for recipients including financial need, a selected major or minor, or even a first-generation college student recipient.<\/span><\/p>\n

The match is only available to first-time endowed scholarship donors and a $25,000 commitment in the form of an outright gift or a multi-year pledge is required. Gifts can be made through cash, stocks or other securities, a donor-advised fund, or an IRA-qualified charitable distribution. Each donor\/household is eligible for one match.<\/span><\/p>\n
