The exhibit features over 75 selected works of Retired Professor of Art, Milt Friedly

The current Elizabethtown College art exhibit, “Gather,” is showcasing retired Professor of Art, Milt Friedly’s 38 years of creative research, leadership, and teaching at the College.

The exhibit will be displayed through Dec. 14 in the Lyet and McCormick Galleries, located in the Leffler Chapel and Performance Center. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

“This exhibit displays the gathering of materials and ideas for the past 38 years at Elizabethtown College,” Friedly said. “My approach has always been that art is about ideas, and finding the best material to express your concept. Concepts often materialize from material and through process. This exhibition represents years of creative explorations, most being very fruitful.”

Friedly began his teaching career at Etown in 1987. Selected works from 1988 through 2025 are included in the exhibition, which showcases ceramics, digital/time-based, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.

Throughout his career, Friedly’s work has been featured at prominent regional, national, and international exhibitions, including the DeMuth Museum in Lancaster, the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, the Yellowstone Art Museum in Montana, Denise Bibro Fine Art, Inc. in New York City, and the George Krevsky (a 1962 alumnus) Gallery in San Francisco, among many others.
