Elizabethtown College recently announced that several students and alumni have been awarded prestigious scholarships and fellowships during the 2024-25 academic year. A total of seven students and two alumni were granted 10 competitive awards, and five students won six Summer Enrichment Grants.
“The achievements of our students and alumni in securing these nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships reflect the depth of talent, curiosity, and global perspective that define an Etown education,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “We celebrate their extraordinary accomplishments and the dedicated Blue Jay faculty and staff who have mentored and inspired them every step of the way.”

- Caitlyn Jensen ’26 – Attending the Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering Workshop offered by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, D.C.
- Tainan Nunes ’26 – Attending the Nordic Business Forum in Helsinki, Finland.
- Jake Woodworth ’26 – Attending leadership training with the executive coaching organization Vistage Worldwide, Inc. in Bozeman, Montana, and becoming a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach with the Clifton Strengths Institute at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.
Summer Enrichment Grants are available to help fund summer research, selective internships, or enrichment travel related to a course of study. At least six grants of $1,000 each are to provide enrichment opportunities for high-achieving Etown students in their pursuit of research, study, and travel experiences advancing their particular course of study during the summer. These nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships fund such opportunities as specialized study abroad, independent research, and graduate study. Read more.
Prestigious scholarships and fellowships provide funding for a wide range of activities:
- Full tuition, fees, and a living stipend to earn a graduate degree abroad
- Undergraduate or graduate study in the US.
- Conducting a research project abroad
- Teaching English abroad
- Internships abroad
- Social engagement projects in the U.S. or abroad
