Recently, Elizabethtown College partnered with Saint Joseph’s University to offer a 4+1 degree program that allows qualified Etown Social Work students automatic acceptance to St. Joseph’s University online Master of Social Work (MSW) program.

After completing core requirements and earning a bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Etown, students who maintain a 3.2 GPA will be granted admission into the MSW program. Additionally, students who maintain a 3.0 in the program will receive a 10% tuition discount.

“We are excited to partner with St. Joseph’s University to offer our students an affordable pathway to advance their degrees through its outstanding MSW program,” Elizabethtown College Social Work Program Director James Corbin said. “This partnership reflects both institutions’ shared commitment to preparing job-ready graduates who are equipped to contribute to the world beyond themselves.”

Social Work majors at Etown receive significant work in the field during their undergraduate studies, graduating with more than 700 hours of field work experience, far exceeding the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accreditation requirements that mandate 400 hours.

As a result, Etown Social Work students have high levels of success in graduate school and the job market, with 94% of seniors accepted to graduate school or employed within one month of graduation in 2023.

In addition to a tuition discount for the MSW program, Etown students can also receive a 10% discount for the M.S. in Criminal Justice, M.A. in Writing Studies, and MBA/M.S. in Food Marketing programs at St. Joseph’s University.
