A total of 80 students from 20 local high schools will participate in the campus-wide event
Elizabethtown College’s Department of Mathematical Sciences and student-led Math Club will host 80 local high school students for its second annual High School Math Contest on Tuesday, April 8.
Students from 20 local high schools (Annville-Cleona School District, Boiling Springs High School, Capital Area School for the Arts Charter School, Carlisle High School, Cedar Crest High School, Central Dauphin High School, Central York High School, Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Cocalico High School, Conrad Weiser Area High School, Donegal High School, Elizabethtown Area School District, Hershey High School, Lower Dauphin High School, Palmyra Area High School, Penn Manor High School, Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy, Warwick High School, Wilson High School, and York County Day School) will each bring four students to participate.
The event includes a math contest with awards for top-scoring individuals and schools at 9:15 a.m., as well as an engaging activity fair facilitated by current Etown Math students and faculty that will include student-designed escape rooms at 11 a.m.
Students will also have an opportunity to hear from Etown’s Admissions Counselors, learn about life as a Blue Jay from a student panel, and enjoy lunch at the College’s on-campus Marketplace Dining Hall.
