Elizabethtown College’s School of Arts and Humanities will host acclaimed author Jami Attenberg on Thursday, April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Masters Center’s Gibble Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged.
Described as a “master of modern fiction” by Entertainment Weekly, Attenberg will discuss her newest novel, “A Reason to See You Again,” as well as the nationally bestselling writing guide, “1000 Words: Stay Creative, Focused, and Productive All Year Long.” There will be an opportunity for book purchases and a signing, as well as audience Q&A.
A New York Times bestselling author of nine books – in fiction, memoir, and craft – Attenberg has written about food, travel, books, relationships, and urban life for The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, the Sunday Times, and Slate. Her work has been published in 16 languages.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Jami Attenberg to Etown’s campus,” Elizabethtown College Lecturer in English, Erica Dolson said. “Our community will have the chance to hear from a prolific, disciplined writer about her recent work. I’m especially excited for our students to hear Attenberg talk about ways she has fostered a creative community – and about the importance of that kind of support for writers and artists.”
Attenberg is the founder of the annual #1000WordsofSummer project, which encourages a community of 32,000 writers to write 1000 words a day for two weeks and maintains the popular Craft Talk newsletter year-round.
