Elizabethtown College English Professional Writing major Anslee Gerhardt ’26 recently concluded a highly sought-after copywriting internship for Infantree, a branding agency in Lancaster, Pa.
“This internship was a steppingstone into the field of copywriting and gave a broad overview of what different types of writing that copywriters might be asked to do,” Gerhardt said. “This internship also gave me a taste for how an office functions. I gained an understanding of the way people interact in an office setting and how to best function in the corporate world.”
Gerhardt met with the creative and graphic design teams at Infantree, writing copy for different projects. She also developed creative social media captions for a client, created compelling taglines and headlines, and wrote copy for various websites. She also worked on long-form blog posts for Infantree’s website.
“The most impactful part of this internship was seeing the collaboration between the graphic design team and the copywriting team,” Gerhardt said. “The visuals had to compliment the copy, and the copy had to compliment the visuals, all to better engage with the target audience.”
She applied for the internship on Etown’s Handshake portal after being notified of the position by Associate Professor of English Tara Moore. Gerhardt was hired for the internship after connecting with Etown’s Career Development Center and working to polish her resume and cover letter.
