The 2024-2025 recipient of the Ranck Prize for Research Excellence is Dr. Cristina Ciocirlan, Elizabethtown College Associate Professor of Management. The Professional Development Committee chose Ciocirlan from nominations submitted by faculty peers.

In addition to receiving a monetary award and a supplement to her professional development fund to support ongoing scholarly activity, she will deliver remarks during Scholarship and Creative Arts Day (SCAD) on April 22, 2025. More details to follow.

“Given the climate crisis facing humanity, organizations must find ways to operate in a sustainable manner,” Ciocirlan said. “My research agenda has been guided by a passion for environmental protection and a belief that organizations can become more sustainable under the right leadership. Research, however, has little meaning if it fails to improve practice. To raise environmental awareness in the local community, I share my research findings at local conferences or symposia and write columns for the local newspapers. I also focus on mentoring undergraduate and doctoral students, hoping to help shape the next generation of researchers in the field of organizational environmentalism.

“The Ranck Prize means very much to me. In our vibrant research community, I am certain that there were other deserving candidates, thus, I am very humbled by this honor. I look forward to presenting at SCAD this year.”
