2023-24 Educate for Service: Service Through Professional Achievement Award – Joseph DePippo ’76

Joseph DePippo ’76 is a 45-year veteran executive and thought leader at the forefront of the natural, organic, sustainable food industry. A Business Administration alumnus, DePippo was DePippo was presented with the 2023-24 Educate for Service: Service Through Professional Achievement Award in front of a sellout crowd of more than 1,400 attendees at the High Center Business Forum on March 27.


2023-24 Educate for Service: Service to Humanity Award – Jess Hayden ’78

Jess Hayden ’78 is the former Executive Director of the Susquehanna Folk Music Society (SFMS) where she led the organization for over 20 years before retiring in 2021. An Education alumna, Hayden was honored as the 2023-24 Educate for Service – Service To Humanity Award recipient at the institution’s annual Ware Lecture on April 11.

125 Years of Elizabethtown College

For 125 years, Elizabethtown College has been the hub of academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement. Since its founding in 1899, the College has empowered generations of students to achieve their academic and personal goals through a commitment to transformative education, experiential learning, and global citizenship. The College kicked office the milestone year at the 2024 Convocation Ceremony and will continue the celebration throughout the spring of 2025.


Charter Day Celebration

Elizabethtown College celebrated its historic 125th Anniversary with a Charter Day Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the Academic Quad. This special event honored the day the College was officially chartered by the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas in 1899.


Homecoming & Family Weekend

Students, employees, alumni, families, and friends joined together to celebrate Elizabethtown College’s 2024 Homecoming and Family Weekend from Sept. 27 to 29.


2024-25 Educate for Service: Service to the College Award – Kyoko Utsumi Akanoma ’67 H’18

Serving as a member of the Elizabethtown College Board of Trustees from 1994 to 2018, and then in an advisory capacity until 2021, Kyoko Utsumi Akanoma ’67, H’18, who earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Etown, has also been a longtime supporter of the College. Kyoko received the 2024-25 Educate for Service – Service To The College Award at the institution’s annual Leffler Lecture on Oct. 24.


Into the Streets 125

More than 320 Elizabethtown College students, employees, alumni, and friends served the local community during the Into the Streets 125 community engagement event on Saturday, Oct. 19. A special edition of the College’s longstanding tradition, this year’s 31st annual event was in celebration of Etown’s 125th Anniversary.

A beloved tradition at Elizabethtown College, the annual Holiday Dinner and Tree-Lighting Ceremony brings the campus and surrounding community together to kick off the holiday season.
