The annual Leffler Lecture is free and open to the public
Elizabethtown College will host two-time U.S. Vice President candidate for the Green Party and Harvard-educated economist, Winona LaDuke on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. for the annual Leffler Lecture in Leffler Chapel & Performance Center. LaDuke is an economist, environmentalist, and writer known for her work on tribal land claims and preservation and commitment to sustainability.
LaDuke will present her lecture, “The Green Path Ahead: Indigenous Teachings for the Next Economy,” where she will share her vision for an equitable and sustainability-focused future. Drawing upon her work as a global leader and activist on culturally-based sustainable development strategies, renewable energy, water, and sustainable food systems, LaDuke will identify a clear path forward toward a cleaner and better world. Her lecture will be followed by a public book signing in Leffler Chapel & Performance Center.
In 2021, LaDuke was named to the first Forbes list of “50 Over 50 – Women of Impact,” and she is the author of seven books.
The Leffler Lecture is free and open to the public and made possible by a generous endowed gift from Linda ’67, H’03, and Patrick Castagna. LaDuke will serve as the first of three internationally known speakers as part of this year’s 2024-25 Elizabethtown College Lecture Series. Register today!
