Elizabethtown College has been named to the 2024 Best Colleges in America list by Money, a trusted publication for providing personal finance news, educational resources, and tools.
Etown earned a noteworthy four out of five stars under Money’s latest Best Colleges list which offers a practical analysis of over 700 four-year institutions based on graduation rates, affordability, and career outcomes to help families make informed decisions.
“It is an honor to be recognized as one of Money’s Best Colleges in America, which showcases the exceptional value that a transformative Elizabethtown College education offers our students in preparation for meaningful and successful careers,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said.
Money starts with all of the four-year public and private nonprofit institutions in the country, a group that totals more than 2,400, and makes an initial cut based on factors such as enrollment numbers, graduation rate, the availability of sufficient, reliable data, and an institution’s financial health.
A total of 745 schools met the requirements to make the list, which were then ranked on 25 factors in three categories: quality of education, affordability, and student outcomes. Institutions were grouped into one of seven ratings, from 2 to 5 stars.
Quality of Education – 96% of Etown graduates had at least one faculty member who made them excited about learning, compared to 63% for the national average.
Affordability – Etown’s comprehensive aid program is a leader amongst similar private colleges in the region as 99% of Etown students receive financial aid. With a financial aid budget of more than $30 million, Etown awards more than half of tuition costs in merit and need-based scholarships and grants.
Student Outcomes – 97% of Etown graduates are employed or enrolled in additional education within one year of graduation. 74% of graduates had an internship or job that allowed them to apply what they were learning in the classroom, compared to just 29% for the national average.
