The College was named one of the nation’s most transfer-friendly institutions for the fourth straight year

Elizabethtown College was recognized for its dynamic pathways created to support transfer students by being named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society’s 2024 Transfer Honor Roll. It is the institution’s fourth consecutive year being recognized with the prestigious distinction.

“Elizabethtown College is honored to be identified continuously as one of the nation’s most transfer-friendly institutions by Phi Theta Kappa,” Elizabethtown College Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications Keri Straub said. “The institution has a longstanding commitment to supporting dynamic transfer pathways, ensuring a seamless transition for students looking to take the next step in their education and student life experience and find their home at Etown.”

The selection honors Elizabethtown College as one of the nation’s most transfer-friendly institutions. It is determined by 40 key metrics related to the support and success of community college transfer students, including college cost and financial aid, campus life for transfer, admission practices, and bachelor’s degree completion. This year, PTK named 228 colleges and universities to its 2024 Transfer Honor Roll.

Etown’s strategic approach to easing the transfer process for students includes enrollment agreements with several two-year colleges including Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), Reading Area Community College (RACC), Harford Community College (HCC), along with special visit opportunities such as on-campus Transfer Thursdays and Virtual Transfer Counselor and Student Sessions.

“The goal of most students attending community college is earning a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexity of the transfer process,” Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa said. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”

The Transfer Honor Roll was based on analysis from the National Student Clearinghouse and data submitted through the four-year institution’s profile on PTK Connect. Phi Theta Kappa’s online tool is designed to help students find their best-fit colleges and career pathways. Colleges completing the PTK Connect profile are given a Transfer Friendliness Rating. The Honor Roll is chosen from among the top 25% of highest-rated colleges. Discover more about Elizabethtown College’s transfer pathways.
