Kara Fitzpatrick ’97

Meet Kara (Vichko) Fitzpatrick ’97, an English and Theater alumna whose impressive career spans multiple fields, including her impactful role as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Technology at the White House. Along with her commitment to making a difference, Fitzpatrick finds joy in traveling and has visited over half of the national parks in the United States.

What defined your Etown experience?

The life skills I developed through Etown Theater and the global perspective I gained while studying in England during my junior year were defining aspects of my time at Etown.

How has your Etown degree benefitted you and your career success?

My time with Etown Theater under the guidance of Mike Sevareid taught me important life skills like time management, conflict resolution, and leadership. These abilities have been crucial to my career success and have empowered me to take on challenges confidently and lead effectively.

How have you made a difference in the lives of others through your career and/or personal life?

Working at the White House under Presidents Obama and Biden gave me the incredible opportunity to be part of efforts that have improved the lives of millions of our fellow Americans.

What is your passion? Where do you place your energy besides your career?

My passion outside of my career is taking road trips to National Parks. To this point, I have visited 33 of the 63 U.S. National Parks.
