The College has exceeded its campaign goal for the fifth consecutive year

Elizabethtown College has exceeded its Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign for the fifth consecutive year by reaching and surpassing its goal of enrollment deposits made by first-year students who will enroll as members of the Class of 2028. The campaign’s success has led to the College matching a total of $20,000 in deposits, which was presented to Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity (LLHH).

“We are overwhelmed by the incredible response to this year’s campaign and are proud to have the opportunity to support such a deserving organization as Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity after exceeding our goal,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Marketing, Communications, and External Relations Keri Straub said. “Introducing students to the College’s Educate for Service mission so early into their Etown journey allows our Blue Jays to immediately become empowered to be a force for good in their community.”

The College launched the campaign by initially committing to match up to $15,000 in enrollment deposits made by first-year students between Jan. 8 through March 16. After exceeding the initial goal following Etown’s first on-campus Accepted Student Day on Feb. 10, the College committed to adding $5,000 to the original pledge by reaching its expanded goal by its third Accepted Student Day of the spring on April 13.

Elizabethtown College partnered with LLHH because of its mission to support families in need of safe, warm, and affordable homes. The College has partnered with Habitat in previous years, offering students opportunities to participate in service-trip building projects. As a part of the donations made through the Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign, incoming students will also have the opportunity to participate in a Habitat home build in Lancaster County that the funds support, once they officially enroll in the fall of 2024.

The College’s Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign aligns with Etown’s motto of Educate for Service, which was adopted in 1915. Educate for Service expresses the College campus community’s belief that the pursuit of knowledge is most noble when used to benefit others.
