The High Center at Elizabethtown College has announced the appointment of John Morefield and Rick Higley as Managing Directors.
“The High Center is pleased to welcome such accomplished executives as John and Rick to the team,” High Center Executive Director Michael Mitchell said. “Our members will immediately benefit from their wisdom and business acumen as they provide the High Center’s best practice surveys, leadership programs, and peer groups.”
John Morefield – Managing Director for the Harrisburg Region
Before joining the High Center, Morefield moved through the ranks of Morefield Communications as the Vice President of Data Communications, becoming President of the company in 1996 and then Chairman of the Board in 2010. During his tenure with the company, revenues tripled to more than $25 million. Under his direction, the company celebrated both its 50th and 75th anniversaries and transitioned to a fourth generation of leadership.
Morefield also worked for AT&T Computer Systems in Boston as a Data Sales Executive serving the financial industry. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Bates College. Morefield currently serves as the regional chair for MIT’s Educational Council and is also a board member for Harristown Development and Encore Creativity, in addition to being an active member of the Harrisburg Rotary Club.
Rick Higley – Managing Director
With over 27 years of successful leadership experience at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Higley has held assignments in the U.S. and Switzerland with responsibilities in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. Higley is a proven professional with a rare combination of global experience in operations, supply chain, current Good Manufacturing Practices, technical supply, and team development within a highly regulated environment.
In his most recent role, Higley worked closely with approximately 200 global sites including privately held and family-owned businesses to ensure a robust, compliant, and reliable external supply network.
