International Women’s Day & Zero Discrimination Day Celebration | Wednesday, Feb. 28 | Throughout Campus
With this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) (March 8) and Zero Discrimination Day (March 1) taking place during the College’s spring break, we’re celebrating early with events across campus.
– All Day | Bowers Center Lower Lounge – Stop by to view pictures and quotes of notable women that will be on display along the windows of the lower lounge throughout March.
– 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. | Bowers Center Lower Lounge – Stop by the Bowers Center to write notes of gratitude to inspiring women at Etown and/or write an empowering message on a post-it note and display it somewhere around campus to make someone’s day.
– 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | BSC Second Floor Lobby and Tower Room – This year’s event theme is, “Inspire Inclusion.” As we celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political successes, we invite the entire Etown campus community to stop by and sign pledge cards to promote equity while honoring the contributions of women. Let us come together in solidarity to support gender equality and women’s empowerment. The collaboration includes Etown’s Office of Student Activities (OSA), Office of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging (DEB), Title IX, and the Center for Community and Civic Engagement (CCCE).
Participants will also have the opportunity to get their picture taken with friends, classmates, teammates, colleagues, or one of our special guest campus women leaders.
Since the official color of IWD is purple, the campus community is encouraged to wear the color to help celebrate!
