Elizabethtown College’s School for Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) is empowering educators to create inclusive learning environments through the recently launched Graduate Certificate in Inclusive and Equitable Education.

“Elizabethtown College is excited to offer this graduate certificate program, which supports all educators in providing an inclusive and equitable learning environment to meet the needs of all learners,” Elizabethtown College Associate Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies Marcy McCarty said.

Tailored for working teachers, the four-course, 12-credit Graduate Certificate in Inclusive and Equitable Education aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to foster inclusive and equitable face-to-face, hybrid, and online classroom environments.

“There is an identified need for general education teachers to possess the knowledge and skills needed for the diverse student population that exists in today’s classrooms,” McCarty said. “This program supports the natural progression of practices occurring in the education system where all educators need the universal design for learning skills in every classroom, without the need to complete a full degree in special education.”

“Participants of this graduate certificate program will learn strategies for promoting an inclusive atmosphere that respects and values all students’ unique diversity, backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives in a variety of classroom environments,” Elizabethtown College  Assessment and Curriculum Coordinator Matt Bergman said.

This program can also be taken as a certificate option needed to successfully complete Etown’s Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Discover more about this graduate certificate program at Elizabethtown College School for Graduate and Professional Studies.
