Elizabethtown College and LIV-Etown are partnering to host the second annual “Not Too Scary HalloweE-town Parade” on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. The event, which will feature a parade and costume contest, followed by a campus-wide, family-friendly Halloween Party is free and open to the public.

“Elizabethtown College is thrilled to be able to offer our off-campus communities the chance to celebrate with our campus community and enjoy both sweets and snacks during this fabulous parade which will showcase costumes, vehicles, floats, and local groups and organizations,” Elizabethtown College Director of Community Impact & Bowers Writers House, Jesse Waters said.

Elizabethtown College’s student-run television station, ECTV-40 will be producing a a broadcast of the parade. The recording will be available on the Elizabethtown College YouTube channel following the event.

Parade and Costume Contest | 6 p.m. | Mount Joy Street & College Avenue
The parade will kick off from Ken Lane in Elizabethtown Borough Park and travel up Mt. Joy Street to College Avenue, ending in the Hoover Center parking lot on Etown’s campus. 

A costume contest will take place during the parade. Judges will include Etown’s President Betty Rider; Etown Adjunct Faculty member and ABC27 News Co-anchor, Ali Lanyon; and Host and Executive Producer of The Spark program on WITF-FM, Scott Lamar.

Family-Friendly Halloween Party | 6:45 p.m. | Throughout Campus
Following the parade, the community is invited to a family-friendly Halloween Party throughout the Etown campus, which will feature a Trunk-or-Treat event with student organizations and local businesses.

Student organizations will be stationed in the parking lot adjacent to Leffler Chapel and Performance Center and businesses will be set up in the Academic Quad to hand out treats.

Additionally, several locally-owned food trucks with meals available for purchase will be parked in the Hoover Center lot, while a DJ from WWEC 88.3 FM, Etown’s student-operated radio station, will be providing music on the BSC Patio.
