Elizabethtown College’s School of Arts and Humanities recently announced the fall performance lineup for its popular Monday Series Concerts.
All concerts in the series are free and open to the public. The series, which takes place in Etown’s Leffler Chapel & Performance Center, will run each Monday from Sept. 11 to Oct. 2, with the final performance on Oct. 23. Performers include a rich group of talent from both the Etown campus community, along with nationally-renowned musicians including:
Taína Asili | Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. | Leffler Chapel and Performance Center
Taína Asili is a Puerto Rican singer, composer, filmmaker, and activist who performs Afro-Latin fusion songs of love and liberation. Asili’s music connects rock, reggae, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, and hip-hop with powerful vocals and infectious rhythms. Asili has performed at the Women’s March on Washington, Carnegie Hall, and the mainstage of San Fransisco Pride.
All-Faculty Recital | Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. | Leffler Chapel and Performance Center
Etown’s music faculty will perform their annual All-Faculty Recital featuring chamber music for woodwinds and piano as well as solos and duets for piano. Etown Professor of Music Justin Badgerow will introduce three works by Latvian composer Jānis Mediņš (1890-1966) after being struck by Mediņš’ pieces while visiting Latvia this summer.

Etown faculty members Adjunct Instructor of Violin and Viola Shawn Wang (violin) and Professor of Music Justin Badgerow (piano) have honed their skills as a performance group after performing together in China at the Baidu music festival near Chengdu. Their performance will include the Mozart Sonata for violin and piano, a playful and charming piece, and Edvard Grieg’s passionate and romantic Sonata for piano and violin.
David Cullen | Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. | Leffler Chapel and Performance Center
David Cullen is a Grammy Award-winning guitarist and Etown’s Artist in Residence. He will present a solo guitar recital featuring selections from his latest recording, “Revival,” which received praise from mainstream publications including The New York Times.
Amanda Gunderson and John Vaida | Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. | Leffler Chapel and Performance Center
Amanda Gunderson (piano) and John Vaida (violin) will present a comprehensive program of violin music from Mozart to the 20th century. Their program will be highlighted by works from American composer Amy Beach and renowned film composer Erich Korngold.
