Elizabethtown College recently announced the line-up of speakers for its 2023-24 Lecture Series, one of the region’s most notable programs. 

Continuing a rich tradition of hosting speakers who provide audiences with the opportunity to be enlightened, engaged, and entertained, this year’s series is open to the public and features four internationally-known and remarkable individuals including:

David Hogg, Parkland Survivor & Gun Control Activist | Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. | Leffler Chapel & Performance Center, Elizabethtown College

Lecture Topic: Engage in the Change: Owning Democracy and Not Living in Fear of Ending Gun Violence

Combining his emotional experiences as a survivor of gun violence with political lessons learned through his advocacy efforts, Hogg outlines what citizens must do to affect political change and end living in fear of gun violence. Learn more.

Olivia Troye, White House Coronavirus Task Force Whistleblower | Feb. 1, 2024, 7 p.m. | Leffler Chapel & Performance Center, Elizabethtown College

Lecture Topic: Doing the Right Thing. Even When It Costs Everything.

A former national security advisor for Vice President Mike Pence and member of the White House Coronavirus Force, Troye shares her personal journey to becoming one of the most notable government whistleblowers in recent American history. Learn more.

Jemele Hill, Emmy Award-winning Journalist & Webby Award Winner | April 11, 2024, 7 p.m. | Leffler Chapel & Performance Center, Elizabethtown College

An Emmy Award-winning journalist and Webby Award winner, Hill is actively engaged in work that builds the capacity for sustained peace by initiating sometimes difficult, but necessary conversations around systemic oppression. Learn more.

Celebrating Educate for Service Award Recipients

This year’s Lecture Series will also include the recognition and celebration of the 2023-24 Educate for Service Award honorees, who will be recognized at the Leffler Lecture, High Center Forum, and Ware Lecture. The Educate for Service Awards are the highest honors bestowed upon alumni by Elizabethtown College and the Elizabethtown College Alumni Association.
