Elizabethtown College has been named to the Best Colleges in America 2023 list by Money, a trusted publication for providing personal finance news, educational resources, and tools.

Etown earned an impressive four out of five stars under Money’s latest Best Colleges list which offers a practical analysis of more than 700 four-year colleges, focusing on affordability and student outcomes.

“This recognition reinforces the exceptional value that an Elizabethtown College education offers our students,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “Our strong mission to Educate for Service, our connected community, and our proven outcomes lead our graduates to become the influential advocates and changemakers the world needs more of.”

Money starts with all of the four-year public and private nonprofit colleges in the country, a group that totals more than 2,400, and makes an initial cut based on factors such as enrollment numbers, graduation rate, the availability of sufficient, reliable data, and an institution’s financial health.

A total of 736 schools met the requirements, which were then ranked on 26 factors in three categories: quality of education, affordability, and student outcomes. Institutions were grouped into one of six ratings, from 2.5 stars to 5 stars.

Quality of Education – 97% of Etown graduates had at least one faculty member who made them excited about learning, compared to 63% for the national average.

Affordability – 99% of Etown students receive financial aid. With a financial aid budget of more than $20 million, Etown awards more than half of tuition costs in merit and need-based scholarships and grants.

Student Outcomes – 95% of Etown graduates are employed or enrolled in additional education within one year of graduation. 74% of graduates had an internship or job that allowed them to apply what they were learning in the classroom.
