Elizabethtown College announced that students can now access the Bloomberg Terminal which is used by leading business and financial professionals worldwide.

“By adding Bloomberg Terminals to our finance lab, we’ve opened up a world of opportunities for our students to explore the financial markets and gain real-world experience that will enrich their learning and prepare them for success in their careers,” Elizabethtown College Dean of the School of Business, Najiba Benabess said.

The Bloomberg Terminal is software that provides real-time and historical data, market-moving news, and analytics to help leading business and financial professionals worldwide make better-informed investment decisions. The service also features execution platforms for every asset class, research, and a global network to communicate securely and reliably.

Students and professors can take advantage of this resource in the Trostle Finance Lab, a state-of-the-art space in Etown’s Hoover Center for Business, where students move from the hypothetical to the real world of finance.

The College’s subscription to the Bloomberg Terminal serves as a resource for both students and professors. It enables students to become familiar with tools used in financial services, reinforcing classroom theory, while professors can use it to further their own research.

“Empowered by our generous donors, Etown’s finance lab was fortunate enough to add 12 Bloomberg Terminals to provide students the most authentic real-world learning experience in today’s dynamic financial markets,” Associate Professor of Finance Emma Neuhauser said. “Bloomberg’s enriched data and analytical tools offer unmatched opportunities for enhanced student research, classroom teaching, and student-managed investment portfolio projects at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.”
