The College exceeded its expanded campaign goal to raise $20,000 for Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services (KPETS)

Elizabethtown College has exceeded its Make A Deposit, Make A Difference campaign for the fourth consecutive year by reaching and surpassing the initial goal of 50 enrollment deposits made by accepted students from Jan. 11 through March 18, as well as the expanded goal of an additional 30 enrollment deposits by April 1.

“We’re thrilled to welcome new students to our Blue Jay family and having them help us surpass our campaign goal to give back to such a deserving organization like KPETS, makes it all the more exciting,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management John F. Champoli said. “Our Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign resonates so well with our Etown community because it introduces our newest students early on to our Educate for Service mission and demonstrates the importance of helping others.”

The success of the campaign has led to the College matching a total of $20,000 in deposits, which was presented to Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services (KPETS). This volunteer team aims to promote well-being by sharing the power of human-animal interactions in south-central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.

“Here at KPETS, we are without the words to express our gratitude to the College and to all those who have been involved with this campaign,” Interim Executive Director at KPETS, Darlene Graham said. “The generosity of this donation will enable our volunteer teams to provide even more comfort and further strengthen well-being within our community during their difficult and anxious times.”

The College launched the campaign by initially committing to match up to $15,000 in enrollment deposits made by accepted students between Jan. 11 through March 18. After exceeding the goal, Etown committed to adding an additional $5,000 to the original pledge by securing an additional 30 enrollment deposits by the final Accepted Student Day of the spring on April 1.

The effort aligns with the College’s motto Educate for Service, which was adopted in 1915. Educate for Service expresses the College campus community’s belief that the pursuit of knowledge is most noble when used to benefit others.
