Amid the nation’s national nursing shortage, Elizabethtown College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) RN to BSN Program recently received national accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
“We are proud that Elizabethtown College is able to offer a flexible nursing program to work to address the national need for qualified nurses,” Elizabethtown College President Betty Rider said. “This next step in earning national accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Educate is an important one which demonstrates the exceptional quality of our program and of our faculty.”
According to the American Nurses Association, in 2022, there is far more registered nurse jobs available than any other profession, at more than 100,000 jobs per year.
“Our program is designed to be flexible for practicing nurses to move at their own pace to earn a bachelor’s degree, and most importantly we offer a supportive, motivating learning environment for our students,” Elizabethtown College Director of the RN to BSN Program Lisa Homa said.
A top-rated Best Value School by U.S. News & World Report, Etown’s RN to BSN program advances the skills and knowledge of professionals within the high-demand nursing field through interactive and engaging courses taught by highly-trained professionals.
As the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is becoming the standard entry-level degree for registered nurses, Etown’s RN to BSN program was created for licensed registered nurses who have an associate’s degree or nursing diploma (ADN). The program is 100-percent online and contains five-weeks of accelerated classes with flexible step-in, and step-out options to meet the needs of practicing nurses.
Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency that contributes to the improvement of the public’s health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing.
The spring application deadline is Jan. 6, 2023, with classes beginning on Jan. 16, 2023. Etown will hold several upcoming virtual information sessions where participants can speak with admissions counselors to discover more about the program.
