Elizabethtown College’s the School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) has been a leader in adult education since established by the College in 1951. The School began offering online degree programs in 2010 and has spent the last 12 years exponentially expanding its online degree and certificate offerings.

In July 2021, Elizabethtown College updated the previously named School of Continuing and Professional Studies to the School of Graduate and Professional Studies along with creating a new branding suite. Since the new brand launched last year, the School has seen a 14-percent increase in enrollment and has added several new online graduate certificate programs including Computer Science Education, Entrepreneurship and Family Business, and Sports Management. The School continues to offer a wide range of associate, bachelor’s, and graduate degrees along with micro-credential opportunities through its a la cart-style certificate platform, Etown Edge.

Overall, Elizabethtown College’s adult learners’ levels of satisfaction beat the national average in seven out of eight measures of quality for effectiveness in serving adult learners in higher ed programs including Institutional Effectiveness, Campus Climate, Registration Effectiveness, Academic Advising, Admissions and Financial Aid, Service Excellence, and Safety and Security.
