Elizabethtown College alumna Kimberly Lipsky Weidman ’91 has recently published her children’s picture book, “Love is…,” available through paperback on Amazon.

The story was written 44 years ago for an Allentown School District essay contest, winning first place for grades 1-3. “Love is…”  tells the story of the main character searching for the meaning of the word “love” by interacting with the world around him.

Weidman wrote the story when she was eight years old and had always dreamt of seeing it illustrated.

“When my father passed away last year, I decided to stop thinking about it and start making my dreams come true,” Weidman said.

Weidman, who studied Communications/Mass Media, credits her Etown education for helping to nurture her creativity.

“Etown provided an environment where I could explore my creative side as well as grow in other areas to empower me to start a business,” explained Weidman. “My experiences there helped build a strong foundation to accomplish my goals.”

As part of her journey, Weidman also started her own business to publish the book. KLJ Happiness, which stands for kindness, love, and joy, aims to share positive messages and life experiences, with the goal of inspiring others to achieve their dreams.
