Elizabethtown College recently hosted internationally recognized thought leader and best-selling author, Jim Collins, as a keynote speaker for the High Center Business Forum.

The event was part of the 2021-2022 Elizabethtown College Lecture Series and proved to be a tremendous success by drawing more than 1,400 guests to the Lancaster Marriott in Penn Square on Wednesday, March 30.

Throughout the night, Collins shared best practices for small business owners and family-owned businesses to succeed, as well discussed his own organization, The Good to Great Project.

The Good to Great Project was founded as a resource for business owners to elevate their enterprises and build businesses to last.

“Greatness is not a function of circumstance,” Collins shares in his book, Good to Great. “Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.”

Next year’s event will host Apple founder, Steve “The Woz” Wozniak, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. This event will also be held at the Lancaster Marriott in Penn Square.

“Our High Center team was excited to see our Business Forum grow again this year,” Executive Director of the High Center Mike Mitchell said. “With around 1,400 attendees, including many students and faculty from Etown, this event was the largest dinner in the College’s history. With Apple Computer founder Steve Wozniak as next year’s guest, we are bound to set another record.”
