Student interest in Elizabethtown College’s Pre-Law Program has significantly grown during the COVID-19 pandemic, similar to national studies cited by Inside Higher Ed. Applications have increased for the past three consecutive years in Etown’s School of Public Service.

“Our pre-law program at Etown is designed to be versatile and flexible for students entering majors in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Communications, and Public Health, which all provide students with the critical thinking, communication, and logical reasoning skills that prepare them to enter law school,” Elizabethtown College School of Public Service Dean April Kelly said.

According to an article published by Inside Higher Ed, student interest in law studies is due to an increase in efforts toward improving social justice and a competitive job market in the career pathway. Additionally, law schools are showing a boost in enrollment.

“What sets Elizabethtown College’s program apart from others is that we offer the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) preparation course to students without an extra fee,” Kelly said. “This is unique compared to our competitors and it highlights our investment in students seeking a career in law. As a result, our graduates have routinely enrolled in the nation’s top law schools.”

Elizabethtown College’s Pre-Law program benefits include:

  • Dedicated Pre-Law Advisors from a variety of disciplines.
  • Free LSAT Prep course taught by a LSAT instructor.
  • Automatic acceptance to Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, Duquesne University School of Law, Widener University Delaware Law School, or Widener University Commonwealth Law School through our Law Early Acceptance Program (LEAP).
