Elizabethtown College’s Bowers Writers House and Creative Writing Department will host a reading with acclaimed author, T. Coraghessan Boyle on Friday, April 8. He will appear at the Bowers Writer House for a writing craft session at 4 p.m., followed by a reading from his new novel, “Talk to Me” in Brinser Lecture Hall, located in the Steinman Center at 7 p.m.
“Boyle really puts on a great show,” Jesse Waters, Director of the Bowers Writers House said. “He loves doing readings and is an extremely animate person. He’s a major international fiction force, but he treats everyone with just the most amazing humility and kindness.”
Boyle is the author of 28 novels that have been translated into over two dozen languages. His short stories have appeared in major national magazines such as The New Yorker, Esquire, and the Atlantic Monthly.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from SUNY Potsdam, a Master of Fine Arts from the Iowa’s Writers’ Workshop, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 19th century British Literature from the University of Iowa. He is currently a Distinguished Professor in the English Department at the University of Southern California where he has been a faculty member since 1978.
