Elizabethtown College has recently entered into a partnership with the national student leadership organization, The Bonner Program. The Bonner Leader program at Elizabethtown College will provide student participants with dynamic and meaningful opportunities to develop and expand their commitment to service, leadership qualities, civic engagement, and social justice.

“We are excited to partner with the esteemed Bonner Leader Program,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management John F. Champoli said. “Our College’s commitment to service and focus on volunteerism aligns with Bonner’s student leadership and civic engagement opportunities and we are confident it will make deep impacts on the futures of many Etown students.”

Elizabethtown College students who apply and are accepted will receive a stipend for their weekly volunteerism with a regional community organization over the span of four years as an undergraduate student. Benefits of the program include:

  • Individual advising and mentoring by Director of Center for Community and Civic Engagement and Bonner Program at Elizabethtown College.
  • Receive up to $5,000 annual stipend funded and provided to Leaders by Elizabethtown College.
  • Extensive Bonner Leader program resources and development in the areas of:
    • Civic Engagement
    • Community Building
    • International Perspective
    • Social Justice
    • Spiritual Exploration
    • Wellness

The program provides participants with training and support as well as the opportunity to transform their campus and surrounding communities and to be transformed, in keeping with the institution’s longtime Educate for Service motto.
