Elizabethtown College’s Department of Music and Elizabethtown College Theatre presents a production of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s Little Shop of Horrors in the Leffler Chapel and Performance Center, beginning Friday, October 29.
Tickets are $8 for students and $15 for general admission. They can be purchased online at any time or at the door before each performance.
The Etown campus and surrounding communities are invited to enjoy any of their six performances:
- October 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m.
- October 31 at 2 p.m.
- November 4, 5, and 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of floral assistant Seymour Krelborn, who finds a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” after his crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he keeps feeding it… blood! Over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and its intent on global domination.
One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows, this charming, tongue-in-cheek comedy has been entertaining audiences for decades.
The cast of talented Etown students has been working tirelessly on the production since late August, directed by Associate Professor of Music Anne Gross .
“The students in this production have spent many hours crafting this show, whether they’re actors onstage, crew backstage, or musicians in the pit,” said Gross. “They are all enthusiastic and excited for their friends and family to come see the show!”
Please note that performers will be unmasked. They will complete frequent COVID testing prior to performances to ensure the audience’s safety.
