Recently, Elizabethtown College’s Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness, and Well-Being was awarded the LEED Silver Certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.

The Bowers Center for Sport, Fitness, and Well-Being opened at Elizabethtown College in fall 2019 to offer the campus community a space to improve health, nutrition, and overall wellbeing goals.

Elizabethtown College achieved its LEED certification for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions in areas including sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.

Certification is confirmation that Elizabethtown College is dedicated to ensuring the space is constructed and operated to the highest level of sustainability. Discover more about the Bowers Center at etown.edu.
