Recently, Elizabethtown College Vice President for Institutional Advancement, David Beidleman was awarded the Blue Jay Impact award. Beidleman was recognized for his work and leadership of the College’s Be More Inspired Campaign.
Since, 2016, David led the fundraising efforts, raising $74.5 million, and surpassing the College’s original goal of $60 million.
“We are truly grateful for the impact David has made on our campus as we help our Elizabethtown College students develop their talents, participate in cutting-edge research, and experience real-world learning opportunities to expand their understanding of the world around us,” Elizabethtown College President Cecilia M. McCormick, J.D. said. “There were so many others on the campus and beyond who share in the success of reaching this goal. We are grateful to our Blue Jay community that rallied together, led by David and his Advancement team.”
The College’s campaign made profound impacts on the following areas:
- Total amount of Cash Pledged: $74,536,799
- 33.2% of our degreed Alumni supported the Campaign
- Number of Campaign Volunteers: 1,751
- Number of Campaign Donors: 12,452
- Established 80 new endowments and added to 79 existing endowments

As vice president for advancement, Beidleman serves as the chief fundraiser for the College. He oversees the areas of alumni relations, the annual fund, major giving, gift planning, the High Center for Family Business and foundation, and church relations. He works extensively with the Board of Trustees, Leadership Council, Alumni, and Parent Councils, and Campaign Steering committees to advance the engagement of external constituencies including alumni, parents, and friends. The Blue Jay Impact award was created during fall 2020 by President Cecilia M. McCormick. The award was designed to recognize a person or group of the Elizabethtown College campus community that has made an incredible impact on the lives of others.
