Elizabethtown College Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy, Judy Beck Ericksen, was recognized with the Academic Educator Award by the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association (POTA) at its annual conference, held virtually October 9-11, 2020. The award recognizes faculty who consistently display a high quality of teaching with students and also who inspire other educators to develop excellent teaching skills. In the presentation of the award, Ericksen was noted for her exceptional classroom teaching, relationship-centered advising with students, excellent undergraduate and graduate research supervision, and her informal mentorship and role modeling to other Occupational Therapy faculty members.
Professor Ericksen joined the Etown faculty in 2007. Her primary clinical background is in school-based practice/pediatrics and mental health. She has also worked in acute care, subacute rehab, and long-term care. Immediately prior to joining the faculty at Elizabethtown College, she served as a therapy specialist for a large school system in Virginia.
