Theresa Mastrobuono, fine and performing arts, was cast in the role of Mrs. Frank in the Open Stage production of the “Diary of Anne Frank.” Open Stage is a professional theater company in Harrisburg. The production was presented at the Whitaker Center March 2-6 for students and Saturday, March 7, for the general public. This was Mastrobuono’s second appearance with the company this season.

There you can find info about presentations at the Pennsylvania OT Conference last fall, a student participating in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant this summer, a publication by Tam Humbert and alumni about domestic violence , as well as, other publications from faculty and/or students.
Dr. Oya Ozkanca, associate professor of political science, published a book review of Dimitris Bouris’ “The European Union and Occupied Palestinian Territories: State-Building without a State in European Security.”
Terrie Riportella, director of the accounting program, was chosen by the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s as the 2015 South Central Chapter Volunteer Service Award recipient. This award is bestowed upon a member who has shown outstanding dedication and service to the organization either at the chapter or state level. Riportella receives the award on May 7.
Dr. Ed Chung, associate professor of marketing, along with coauthor, Carolan McLarney of Dalhousie University, presented their teaching case in development, “Missing the target: Diagnosing Target’s Failed Launch in Canada” at the 2015 Northeast Decision Sciences Institute meeting in Boston.
Dr. Colin Helb, assistant professor of communications, was invited to participate in the March showcase of the Filmadelphia at the Roxy film series. Filmadelphia is “a monthly film series that provides a venue for local filmmakers of all ages, levels and backgrounds to showcase their work and elicit audience feedback.” His most recent short film, “Sitting,” in which he was the director of photography and sound designer, was screened. Helb and director Laurie Norton participated in a question-and-answer session along with other filmmakers associated with the production company, Saturday Afternoon Pictures.
Dr. Kyle Kopko, assistant professor of political science, did research on the topic of presidential home state advantages, which is now the subject of an article in the Washington Post blog, The Fix.
Dr. Cristina E. Ciocirlan, associate professor of management, was awarded the Fulbright Scholar Award for the fall semester of 2015. Her research project focuses on environmental behaviors in organizations and it will be conducted in collaboration with Durham University Business School, in the United Kingdom.
