Peter Buffett was interviewed on Fox 43 to promote his visit to the College; a video of the segment, “Peter Buffett Stops by Fox43,”is available online. He presented “Life Is What You Make It: A Concert & Conversation with Peter Buffet”, a series, based on his book, which has been presented around the world.

 

Donna Talarico-Beerman, marketing and communications, discussed the redesign of the School for Continuing and Professional Studies’ website and the College’s partnership with OmniUpdate in “Three Big Web Trends for Colleges in 2014” in the March issue of the trade journal Career College Central.

 

Guest reader Andrew McFadyen-Ketchum was featured in the Lancaster Newspapers article “Bookends: Colorado poet reading in E-town” March 28. McFadyen-Ketchum read from his award-winning poetry collection at Bowers Writers House.

 

Theresa Mastrobuono, adjunct faculty (theatre), was mentioned in “Civil War in songs and stories is just part of upcoming Lancaster Symphony concert” in Lancaster Newspapers on March 31. Mastrobuono is one of three narrators in Gustav Mahler’s monumental “Titan’’ Symphony No. 1.

 

Guest speaker, Joseph Sebarenzi, was featured on the WITF’s Radio Smart Talk on April 2. The online blurb “Smart” details the program. Sebarenzi’s spoke at the showing of the film ‘Sometimes in April’.

 

Elizabethtown College’s Collaborative Industry Partnership project (CIP) was featured in the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal on April 4. Students Danni Qiao and Nate Fosbenner were quoted in the cover story, “International biz students help regional firms abroad”. CIP started at Elizabethtown College in 2011 and is part of the international business program’s senior seminar class offered each spring semester.

 

Donald Kraybill, professor and Young Center senior fellow, was consulted for the April 7 Mennonite World article, “Traditions drive Amish survival”. The article featured guest speaker, Cory Anderson, who addressed the question ‘Why have the Amish survived?’

 

Nobel Peace Prize-winning guest speaker, Tawakkol Karman, was featured in “Nobel Prize winner Tawakkol Karman to give lecture at Elizabethtown College” which appeared on Pennlive.com April 7. Karman gave a lecture about “Women, Human Rights and the Arab Revolution.”

 

Paul Cramer, vice president for enrollment, was mentioned in the Lancaster Newspapers story “Shrinking pool of high school grads causes local colleges to adapt” April 8. Due to smaller numbers of high school graduates, area colleges are finding new ways to adjust their outreach.

 

Elizabethtown College’s Tempest Theatre production of ‘A Murder is Announced’ was featured in April 10 edition of Lancaster Newspapers in “When ‘A Murder is Announced,’ Miss Marple answers”. Director Michael Swanson, associate professor of theatre and director of theatre and dance, and student Taylor Luckenbill, who plays the role of Miss Marple, were quoted.
