Recently, Elizabethtown College student, Emalie Rell, was honored by the ICPSR (Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research) for an essay she wrote in the organization’s 2019 Undergraduate Research Paper competition.
Rell, a Sociology and Anthropology major with a minor in Psychology, won second place for her paper, “Mother Doesn’t Always Know Best: The Effects of Sex and Support for Sex Education on Views of Teen Access to Birth Control without Parental Consent.”
The ICPSR Research Paper Competition accepts entries of papers for analyses on any topic using data from ICPSR. The purpose of the competitions is to highlight exemplary research papers based on quantitative analysis that uses ICPSR data.

It is an international consortium of more than 750 academic institutions and research organizations.
