Elizabethtown College has partnered with Harford Community College (HCC) in Bel Air, Md., to offer students a seamless pathway to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology through a new 2+2 transfer agreement.
“At Etown, we’re committed to expanding access and providing a clear path to an education that prepares students for meaningful careers,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing & Communication, Keri Straub said. “We look forward to welcoming these students into our close-knit community, where they’ll continue building the knowledge, hands-on experience, and connections needed to succeed in this growing field.”
Through the agreement, students who earn an Associate of Applied Science in Biotechnology from HCC with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher will receive guaranteed admission to Elizabethtown College’s Biotechnology program and may transfer up to 64 credits toward their bachelor’s degree.
The MOU also provides HCC students with the following:
- Full consideration for financial aid upon matriculation to Elizabethtown College
- A 15% tuition discount for members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) who are continuously enrolled in degree programs
- Access to Etown academic, financial aid, and career advising while enrolled at HCC
- Access to Etown library resources, campus facilities, and events while enrolled at HCC
In addition to the Biotechnology pathway, Etown also guarantees admission to HCC students in additional majors who earn an associate degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
