The College has exceeded its Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign goal for the seventh consecutive year

Elizabethtown College has exceeded its annual Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign goal for the seventh straight year. The campaign’s success has led to the College donating $10,000 to Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) by matching a portion of deposits made by first-year students who intend to enroll as members of the Class of 2030.

“The continued momentum behind our Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign reflects the values that define our community and highlights what makes Etown so special,” Keri Straub, Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing & Communications, said. “At Etown, we believe education should inspire action, and this initiative demonstrates how our newest Blue Jays are already putting Educate for Service into practice by supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference.”

The matching period for deposits began on Jan. 5 and continued through the College’s final Accepted Student Day event of the spring on April 18.

Etown works closely with SSD through the successful, student-run Dogs in the Dell program, which is designed to allow residential students to raise and train service dogs on campus. Part of Keystone Human Services, SSD breeds, raises, trains, and places assistance dogs and hearing dogs, as well as facility dogs, to assist children and adults with disabilities to lead the lives they want to live.

Launched in 2020, Etown’s Make a Deposit, Make a Difference campaign aligns with the College’s motto, Educate for Service, which was adopted in 1915. Educate for Service expresses the campus community’s belief that the pursuit of knowledge is most noble when used to benefit others.
