Elizabethtown College is providing an opportunity for York Suburban High School students to experience college coursework early through the College’s Dual Enrollment program.
The partnership allows students to begin their post-secondary education with a full year’s worth of academic credit by participating in courses across all six of Etown’s Schools, including the School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS). Courses are offered in a traditional on-campus classroom or as a flexible online program.
“This collaboration introduces York Suburban students to the transformative educational experience we offer at Etown,” Elizabethtown College Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications Keri Straub said. “By earning college credits early and learning alongside our exceptional faculty and students, participants gain insight, momentum, and a valuable head start on their college journey.”
Etown currently works with over 20 partner schools from throughout the region to offer Dual Enrollment.
Dual Enrollment at Etown benefits high school students by allowing them to:
- Explore academic interests early in preparation for postsecondary studies.
- Accumulate college credits at a significantly reduced cost and strengthen the possibility of completing a postsecondary education early.
- Supplement educational knowledge achieved through Advanced Placement (AP) College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) coursework.
- Learn alongside college-level students either in an on-campus classroom setting or in online courses from the comfort of your home.
- Access to entry-level courses without any prerequisites.
By participating in the program, students also have access to personalized academic advising and various support resources to be successful in their dual enrollment courses.
